A purple explosion

Jacaranda trees, Robertson, South Africa, November 2025

I have been watching the jacaranda trees, closely, during my regular trips to Robertson over the last month. I've been waiting for them to burst into bloom. Unusually, I had two trips in, this week, and in two days, from a smattering of lilac, they turned into an explosion of purple.

I go along this road as part of my usual, weekly shopping "tour" of the town. It is crisscrossed with jacaranda avenues like this, adding a huge splash of pretty to my weekly chores outside the village.

Until next time
