Volviendo a mi blog, después de varios días ausentes. Días un poco complicados por lo que el silencio no solo ha sido producto de la imposibilidad de detenerse a escribir un poco, sino de la imperante posibilidad de hilar una oración con un atisbo de sentido de cara a factores como el cansancio, la tristeza, el abrupto cambio de rutina.

Si me siguen desde hace algun tiempo saben que desde hace varios años mi suegro ha venido atravesado un cuadro de salud que ha venido deteriorándose conforme pasa el tiempo. Y que mi esposa se abocó enteramente al cuidado y al acompañamiento de su papá en su proceso. Cada vez siendo una tarea más demandante, y que desde mis posibilidades fui apoyándola en los cuidados paliativos de su papá.

Cuidados que llegaron a su fin el pasado día sábado 9 a tempranas horas de la mañana. Después de todos los ritos funerarios, volver a casa y encontrarnos con una realidad diferente ha sido algo muy particular.

Decidimos tomarnos unos días para descansar y repensarnos en ese sentido, en gran medida más a ella que a mi la cotidianidad giraba en torno a cuidados...

PD: espero ir retomando mi blog con más frecuencia. Pido disculpas porque no he respondido algunos comentarios.

I’m back on my blog after being away for a few days. It’s been a bit of a rough few days, so my silence wasn’t just because I couldn’t find the time to sit down and write, but also because I struggled to put together a coherent sentence amid feelings of exhaustion, sadness, and a sudden change in routine.

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that for several years now my father-in-law has been dealing with a health condition that has been deteriorating over time. And that my wife devoted herself entirely to caring for and supporting her father through this process. It was an increasingly demanding task, and I did my best to support her in providing palliative care for her father.

That care came to an end early Saturday morning, the 9th. After all the funeral rites, returning home and facing a different reality has been a very unique experience.

We decided to take a few days to rest and reevaluate things in that regard; to a large extent, for her more than for me, daily life revolved around caregiving...

P.S.: I hope to start blogging more frequently again. I apologize for not having responded to some comments.
