Hoy día 23 de abril se celebra el día internacional del libro 📖 aunque también es día internacional del idioma español, eso no parece tanta tracendencia como la celebración del día del libro a pesar de ser el español el 2 idioma más hablado en internet a nivel mundial.

Cómo saben, soy un amante de los libros 📚 y siempre que puedo y tengo la oportunidad de comprar un libro no lo dudo. Aunque poseo en mi pequeña biblioteca personal más textos por leer que leídos se que los libros son una puerta siempre abierta al conocimiento, a la imaginación y a vivir vidas más allá de tu vida.

Parece que en nuestra época se ha edificado un nuevo modo de discriminación que tiene todo que ver con la lectura, pues parece que a menor riqueza cultural de las personas o aquellas en mayor vulnerabilidad social tienen menos acceso a libros, por lo que tienen menos acceso a edificar capital cultural y crear riqueza espiritual.

Creo que un día como hoy nos exige edificar estrategias para proponer mayor acceso a libros y que leer no sea un acto de segmentación social.

Por otro lado estoy releyendo El Principe de Maquiavelo, y mi pequeño amigurumi de Nietzsche les desea a todos un feliz día del libro.

Today, April 23, is International Book Day 📖, although it is also International Spanish Language Day; however, the latter does not seem to carry as much weight as the celebration of Book Day, even though Spanish is the second most widely spoken language on the Internet worldwide.

As you know, I am a book lover 📚, and whenever I can and have the chance to buy a book, I don’t hesitate. Although in my small personal library I have more books to read than I’ve read, I know that books are a door that is always open to knowledge, to imagination, and to living lives beyond one’s own.

It seems that in our time a new form of discrimination has emerged that has a lot to do with reading, since it appears that the less cultural wealth people have or the greater their social vulnerability, the less access they have to books, and thus the fewer opportunities they have to develop cultural capital and create spiritual wealth.

I believe that a day like today calls on us to develop strategies to promote greater access to books and ensure that reading is not an act of social segregation.

On another note, I’m rereading Machiavelli’s The Prince, and my little Nietzsche amigurumi wishes everyone a happy Book Day.
