Tapsi Ni Vivian: A Place to Have Bulalo

Bulalo is one of the famous Filipino dishes, a soup-based one, that is made up of beef shanks and marrow bones cooked for a long while so that the fat, marrow and even the meat gets so soft that they already combine with the broth.

When it comes to bulalo, Tapsi ni Vivian would always be on top of my list (along with Tagaytay's Mahogany Market). In here is where they serve bulalo with one of the most tender meat I have encountered. The bulalo also comes with a steaming and rich soup with lots of vegetables. One large bowl that costs around Php 470 (approx. 9 USD) is good for 3-4 persons. (It really depends on one's appetite.)

Fried tawilis, a type of fish (one of the smallest ones)
that can only be found here in the Philippines is the best dish to go with bulalo. The fried tawilis crispiness is best paired up with the steaming soup of bulalo. To top it off, a cup (or two) of hot rice would make it a perfect meal.

Tapsi ni Vivian also offers a wide selection of Filipino dishes and silog, a kind of plated meal with sinangag or fried rice and itlog or egeg. Their famous tapsilog ( a meal consisting of beef, fried rice and egg has even won them an award.

So there you go, the next time you crave for a bulalo or wanted to try one, maybe you should check out Tapsi Ni Vivian.
