[ESP/ENG]Reseña de el cuento "El almohadón de plumas"/Review of the story "The feather cushion".

Un gran saludo comunidad en esta ocasión les traigo una corta reseña del cuento “El almohadón de plumas” escrito por el poeta uruguayo Horacio Quiroga.

A big community greeting on this occasion I bring you a short review of the story "El almohadón de plumas" written by the Uruguayan poet Horacio Quiroga.

El relato da inicio con el reciente casamiento de la pareja de esposos cuya luna de miel sería de dicha y felicidad en un espacio de tres meses, al cabo de ese tiempo, Alicia contrajo una trágica enfermedad que los médicos no podían encontrar explicación a su causa, la misma que fue avanzando al transcurso del tiempo, la salud de Alicia hasta, finalmente, fallecer. Después del deceso de la joven esposa la sirvienta descubre que en el almohadón donde recostaba su cabeza Alicia era succionada día a día, noche a noche, por un animal que estaba acabando con su vida.
El tema que se desarrolla es el amor y la muerte; en cuanto al amor, los sentimientos expresivos de los personajes son distintos, porque Jordán amaba a Alicia, pero sin embargo él no lo demostraba afecto hacia ella, Alicia por su parte también amaba a su esposo y de alguna manera ella esperaba el mismo trato de afecto de ella hacia él, haciendo de ella un personaje cargado de soledad y fracaso. Asimismo, se evidencia a la muerte, como un misterio que solo al final es descifrado.

Considero que la historia me gustó bastante porque es el género que más me llama la atención y que desencadena un final fuera de lo común, ya que no llega a un final feliz como los otros cuentos. En este se rescata las características del entorno familiar por el autor, un mundo lleno de tristeza y suicidios, la cual afectó mucho su integridad emocional.
Finalmente, Horacio Quiroga nos deja una interesante reflexión, de cuán importante es manifestar nuestros sentimientos en la vida de familia, en el hogar, con la pareja. Este relato, con ese lenguaje sencillo sin rebuscadas formas expresivas es fácil de leer y recomendado a todo público lector.

The story begins with the recent marriage of the married couple whose honeymoon would be of joy and happiness in a space of three months, after that time, Alicia contracted a tragic disease that doctors could not find an explanation to its cause, the same that was advancing over time, Alicia's health until, finally, she died. After the death of the young wife, the maid discovers that the cushion on which Alicia lay her head was being sucked day after day, night after night, by an animal that was killing her life.
The theme that develops is love and death; as for love, the expressive feelings of the characters are different, because Jordan loved Alicia, but nevertheless he did not show affection towards her, Alicia for her part also loved her husband and somehow she expected the same affectionate treatment from her towards him, making her a character full of loneliness and failure. Likewise, death is evidenced as a mystery that is only deciphered at the end.

I consider that I liked the story because it is the genre that most attracts my attention and that triggers an unusual ending, since it does not reach a happy ending like the other stories. In this one, the characteristics of the author's family environment are highlighted, a world full of sadness and suicides, which greatly affected his emotional integrity.
Finally, Horacio Quiroga leaves us an interesting reflection on how important it is to express our feelings in family life, at home, with our partner. This story, with its simple language, without any complicated expressive forms, is easy to read and recommended to all readers.
