Yo he visto milagros.

An emigrant's Christmas

Christmas at Home

The Home where your heart is

There is no time, no place

Come to my house this Christmas

I have memories, from one life or from several, depending on how you look at it. From my childhood on another continent, with uncles and cousins that I never saw again. News in letters, written on paper and brought by the mailman, while mom was alive. Mom left and dad left behind, and they are still present with their sayings and answers. Some friends left for eternity and others, many, emigrated and are scattered to the north and south. Not a few crossed the Atlantic and are around the homeland and Europe. Everyone is present in memory at this time, some remember and send a message or call by phone. Let us be thankful for this technology that brings us closer, even if it is virtually. I am not religious, but I am a believer. I have seen miracles. And in the six months and days in Buenos Aires, I have seen more. In this ice cream shop on Nicaragua Street, I met with some hive-friends, to get to know each other and share.

A special moment in which we got to know each other, a little more; our stories and families, with the happy coincidence of knowing that they met other dear friends who also emigrated from Cumaná and today make their life in Colombian lands.

Since we have resided in this blessed Argentine land, where unknown descendants of my great-grandfather roam, we have received the visit of many friends, part of our large family. A neighbor from Cumaná, who now lives in CABA, her daughter who calls me grandfather, with her daughter born in Mendoza. Soon we will see her brother, our young doctor who comes from Santiago.
We were visited by another Cumanés, son of Peruvians, who introduced us to his wife from Jujuy and his son.
Another who came to see us, a nephew, son of a Portuguese friend, who emigrated to the north years ago, where he resides in Los Angeles and is on vacation in these parts.
As if that were not enough, we have the Araya and Santa Fe family, with whom we have contact almost daily.
And as if that were not enough, we have all the friends, Venezuelans and Argentines from the splendid hiveargentina@hiveargentina community where we already feel at home.

This story being real and true, I have not wanted to put faces or names. Some of us share on #Hive and others don't, if anyone reads me and wants to say hello, thank you.
To everyone, my best wishes for happiness, health and abundance for Christmas and the new year.
If anyone is near 6073 Nicaragua Street, let me know and come visit me, for coffee or mate and something else, as well as a spectacular view of this side of Buenos Aires.

And if you're far away, a fraternal hug.

And who knows, maybe you'll take home a soap from the soap maker bomber.
