Five Minute Freewrite: time to get vertical 

Ray is a genius with a high IQ. He was over obsessed with patterns as he strongly believed that everything has a pattern. In his quest to prove he was right, Ray decided to study and observe anything he came across that had a pattern.

Ray knew it was not possible to study all things with patterns in this world, so he decided to study the basics of things that had patterns first. He also tried different games such as those with puzzle, maze, etc but it was inconclusive.

One day while on his quest, he came across an old man who had asked him a simple question "What type of pattern was he looking for, horizontal, vertical, or cyclical?" And this question had totally shattered everything he had thought he knew because he had missed the first step which was categorizing patterns into types. He thanked the old man for the new insight and told the man that it's time to get vertical. The old man simply smiled and wished him all the best.

Ray got to understand that he needs to share his knowledge out there as they will always be someone smart or someone who knows more.
