An Open Message to My Landlord: I Can’t Live Like This Anymore.
This is the reality of the Bali rental market right now. I’m at my absolute limit because of the constant noise, and honestly, I’ll most likely be moving out of this place next week just to get some peace. These "paradise" villas often have doors made of thin cardboard, meaning I hear every creak and shout from the neighbours as if they were right here in the room with me.
The best advice I can give any landlord wanting to keep a tenant like me is to fix the doors. Instead of these hollow bits of wood, you need to install solid core doors. They’re much heavier and actually block the sound waves instead of letting them vibrate through the house.
