Sunbathing Starlings
We watched some starlings and their chicks sunbathing on the wall. From reading up on it, it is thought to help them maintain their feathers and regulate their body temperature. Starlings can often be seen on walls, sometimes spreading their wings and soaking up the sun. Source
Starlings often gather together in groups. This helps to strengthen social bonds among the flock.
Even though they are quite common birds in the UK, I think they are quite attractive and very underrated.
We also spotted the parents flying back and forth looking for food. Once the parents have found food, they regurgitate it to feed their waiting young.
