It is true that your friendship with your coworker is bittersweet. You spend practically all of your time together, laugh constantly, and learn and grow together, but one day you'll have your own different path, which I detest the most, but that's life.

I didn't anticipate growing closer to this colleague. Although she is a Senior to me, we are good friends outside of work. She will soon move close to where I'm going to live after we previously shared an apartment. I'm incredibly grateful to her for being willing to share her knowledge with me and for always being there for me when I'm having problems at work or in my personal life. One of the first things I will miss about her is that we go out to lunch every single day. She made my work bearable since I could vent to her about all the difficulties I had, and she helped me to complete my task effectively.

The fact that she won't be joining us at work the following week has not yet sunk in. I'm hoping I can adapt quickly the following week. But I can't promise that I won't miss her or feel sad when I do. As a friend, I am happy for her at the same time to be able to get the opportunity she wants. I simply wish her the very best and hope that we can stay friends. I commit to staying in touch with her and giving my all at work.

Because I still want to spend time with her, travel, and go to parties with her, I don't want to say goodbye. Although we won't be employed by the same firm, we promised to occasionally catch up. And this makes me feel relieved.
