DIY Samgyeopsal at Home

Samgyeopsal or grilled pork belly is one of the famous Korean Cuisines. I became a fan of it when I was influenced by my cousin to watch Kdramas and adore Kpop Idols. It is also famous not just in Korea but here in the Philippines too; we have different Samgyeopsal restaurants all around the city. Since I only have a tight budget and I am craving for Samgyeopsal, I made my version of it at home. I just bought all the ingredients from the supermarket.

It's also a farewell supper for two of my close friends who live in the same apartment as me and will be moving out. Food is supposed to bring me comfort, but knowing that it was the last dinner in the apartment with my two buddies makes me sad. We've made samgyeopsal in the apartment before, but this was the most bittersweet meal we've ever had. I will miss their presence every time I am eating out of stress or during my food cravings. But I wish them all the best things in their lives and a happy family that will about to start.
