Hey friends
just wanted to share this lil guy I’ve been working on today. I am thinking about playful cartoon energy with painterly digital gouache style. I want the forms shaped with color blocks, soft shading, and textured brushes which gives off that loose, childlike kind of art. A lil inspo like claymation and cut-outs
Look at my character, that goofy stance like he is about to step into somewhere chill and fun and I really love how the hoodie turned out too. The proportions are exaggerated and weird like thick black limbs, big nose, wide eyes, cozy clothes. The vibe is carefree, curious, a little awkward, but totally comfy
The contrast between the dark skin and the pastel clothes makes everything pop but still feels friendly, like he belongs in a storybook you would find in a library
I dunno
he just showed up
and I’m glad he did
