Say Hello to Reenie

The first t-shirt design I had ever made was an 18hr work that had to be done 2 days to the fashion show so the model I had escorting me could have it on for the event, when I was making it and even after the event I saw a few changes I could have made to the shirt to make it look better and sit more comfortably on his figure.

I eventually decided to play around with colors and I picked my new fav (lilac), my all time fav (black) and another color to balance out my palette so it doesn’t look off (butter yellow) and I got to picking my stitch.

For some reason I have been drawn to V stitches and while I was looking for stitches it dawned on me that this is the perfect time to explore that stitch in my design. I didn’t want the regular stripes so I did this variation with the three colors and it looked good on the first few rows so I continued.

What was the idea behind designing this? Apart from boredom, I wanted a shirt I could hide in so to say, I’m a sucker for shirts 1 or 2 sizes bigger than mine and they always feel so comfy and nice so I got used to wearing them and it was high time I made one for myself.

As usual scrap yarns always start out as my personal designs since they mostly start impromptu, I had to do a market run before I got back into it since I ran out of yarns.

Mapped out the proportions for each color and got to crocheting away, and obviously my daydreams were loud as ever. Oh how would it look, where would I wear it to, this blend is so fine etc. I usually do front the panel first since I think the front greatly determines how the back panel will look.

When I finished with the front panel I started with the back and I can say I finished up in record time (I wasn't counting 😅), dis only a few rows for the sleeve and it was already where I wanted it swapped to the other side, repeated and I was done for the sleeves.

Took me only a little while to clean up, and my new found blocking obsession came in with steam oozing from my steamer like I just downed a titan😅, luckily for me I had a work meeting the following day and I Styled my pretty shirt for it and it felt so goooood, I don't own casual crochet wears so it feels good to have one I could just throw on.

Got compliments on my shirt and ended up giggling the entire morning.
