Now, That's A Pickle!

While ordering a sandwich at Deleoni's Italian Deli in Forked River, New Jersey, I happened to notice a display jar of delicious looking dill pickles. Well, I had to try one and it didn't disappoint. It was one of the juiciest pickles I ever had. The deli person offered to cut the pickle for me, but there was no way that I was going to allow this customer service-oriented person ruin my experience. I wanted to bite into this delicacy whole!

It actually brought me back to my youth when I lived in the Bronx. My family would take a ride to City Island and eat at this traditional deli. Inside the deli was a barrel full of the largest and most delicious pickles I ever had. Back then, they allowed you to reach in and select the pickle of your choice. This pickle that I just found in New Jersey was equally big and delicious. As the deli clerk said, "Everything tastes better with pickle juice." If you don't believe me, just ask Chick-fil-A. I hear their chicken sandwiches taste so good because of the pickle juice.
