Keeping Warm

I think I have finally decided that I am not a cold weather person. This morning the temperature read in my car as 27°. Now add some wind to that and you are in the teens. New Jersey over the last few years have had mild winters, at least in my section of South Jersey. This year, after starting out mild, the cold hit us all at once. We even had some unexpected snowfall.

This is why I have a picture of Chicken Noodle Soup starting off this blog. I am utilizing acting skills by staring at the picture and pretending to feel the heat rising out of the bowl. This soup was extremely hot and I can taste it burning my tongue as I am writing this piece. The diced pieces of chicken, the carrots, the onion and the broth-soaked noodles are beginning to warm me up.

Then there's my favorite necessity of any good soup, a flavorful broth. It must be homemade soup because there is way too much sodium in the canned variety. However, don't feel guilty if you are currently taking advantage of Shoprite's Can-Can Sale! So, if you are cold, immerse yourself into this picture and feel the heat!
