Hi there. In this short Pokemon TCG post, I covered the Pitch Black main set release in July 2026. This set features Mega Darkrai ex.

It is rare to have a main set on a July. Maybe the Pokemon TCG staff are changing things up this time around. This year is also the 30th anniversary for the TCG.

Japan's Abyss Eye set featuring Mega Darkrai ex releases on May 22 (same date as Chaos Rising set ft. Mega Greninja ex). Pitch Black set releases on Friday July 17, 2026. Prerelease events will be held from Saturday July 4 to Sunday July 12, 2026.

At the time of writing, there are no card reveals from Japan for the Abyss Eye set nor any reveals from Pitch Black set. Updates are likely to come soon in the next few weeks.
