Pokemon TCG 30th Celebration Set Products Reveal

Hi everyone. The 30th Celebration set products for the Pokemon Trading card game have been revealed.

You've got your Elite Trainer Boxes, Poster Collections, Mini Tins, Battle Decks, Premium Collections, Promo cards and more.

The challenge is getting these items before the scalpers. September 16, 2026 is the release date for the products. Some products release later.

Sealed Products

When it comes to special sets like this, you cannot purchase booster boxes or individual booster packs. You have to get sealed products. As I am mostly a player, I avoid sealed products and buy playable single cards.

These mini-tin products are released on October 2, 2026. (I show some pictures)

Binder Collection, Booster Bundle, Battle Decks & Ultra Premium Collections

These collection products will sell out fast, especially the Espeon and Umbreon collections.

Nidorina ETB Promo Card

The Elite Trainer Box for the 30th anniversary comes with an illustration rare Nidorina card.

As an attacker, Nidorina is not very good. The ability, Share Happiness, lets you heal 30 damage from one of your Pokemon once during your turn.

Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres

Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres have similar abilities. If you have all 3 legendary birds on the field, then you have access to their energy acceleration effect.

My criticism with these attacks is that they require a bit of energy. The Zapdos one is the best in terms of firepower but it requires a lot of Energy.

Alolan Exeggutor and Lucario

Both of these cards come from the Sticker Collection sealed products.

Lucario's Aura Sphere attack does 100 damage plus 60 damage to an opponent's Benched Pokemon from 3 Energy. I don't think this is good enough in a Mega Lucario ex deck though.

Alolan Exeggutor is kind of interesting. The Scale Up ability makes this have 250 more HP if there are 6 or more Grass Energy attached to this. Use Meganium to make it easier to meet the 6 Grass Energy requirement.

Mega Drain for 1 Grass and 3 Colourless Energy does 150 damage. It also heals 50 damage from this Pokemon.

Sylveon ex and Greninja ex

These two were featured in a previous post. Greninja ex does not seem very good and Sylveon ex might be okay in an Eevee themed deck.

Eevee, Victini, Zeraora

This Eevee is not a great attacker. The Fetch and Hide attack is kind of interesting. You see the opponent's hand and put an Item card you find there to the bottom of the opponent's deck. Slightly annoying but not game breaking.

Other than the Call For Family attack, Victini is not a great attacker. What a shame.

Zeraora seems okay in the early game. One Energy for 20 damage plus draw 1 card is okay. Electrobullet seems weak though.

Mewtwo & Mew

Mewtwo as an attacker is not very good. Empower does attach up to 2 Basic Energy cards from your discard pile to 1 of your Pokemon.

Mew is a fragile 60 HP Basic Psychic Pokemon. The Psychic attack for 2 Psychic Energy does 10 base damage. Psychic does 40 more damage for each Energy attached to the opponent's Active Pokemon.

Espeon ex, Umbreon ex, Pikachu ex (Day & Night)

These four cards were covered in a previous post. The two Pikachu ex cards are not really great for playability.

Espeon ex may be okay competitively and Umbreon may be okay as well.

Ditto

There is also a Ditto Premium Collection product with this Ditto illustration rare card.

Ditto's attack requires 2 Energy for the attack. If you get Heads, then you can search your deck for a Pokemon and switch with this Ditto. The card text does not mention that it has to be a Basic Pokemon. You could have Ditto copy an evolved Pokemon from the deck.

Closing Notes

This 30th anniversary special set will be crazy. Scalpers will ruin the space for the kids and collectors.

When it comes to playable cards, there are not that many yet. Even if there were some good playable cards, finding them will be tricky. Prices of singles cards could be higher than normal.

Special sets are cool and all but getting product make it tough.
