5th grade math!
Please
Excuse
My
Dear
Aunt
Sally
It’s been a long time since I have done math.
Also my kid has not needed much help in the past.
Tonight though he asked me to do his homework with him. He has some questions about the order of operations.
It will be a good refresher for me.
This is what I’ll be doing for 5th grade.
Utah's 5th Grade Math standards, grounded in the Utah Core Standards, focus on developing understanding of fractions and decimals, extending whole number and decimal division to two-digit divisors, and understanding volume. Key areas include: developing fluency with fraction addition and subtraction and the multiplication/division of fractions, extending place value to decimals, and learning to add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals. Students will also fluently multiply multi-digit whole numbers and develop a conceptual understanding of volume.
I’ll keep you posted.
