The wooden spoon: Glikka

glikka /ˈɡlik.ka/ n.

• Etymology: Borrowed from the forest folks. Adopted from the glifka. Over generations of rapid speech among Nivukti scouts, the soft /f/ assimilated completely into the plosive /k/ to become a double consonant.
• Definition: A rustic, highly utilitarian wooden trail spoon carved directly from a single thick tree branch. The glikka features a rough, knobby handle that intentionally retains its natural, texturized outer bark to provide an excellent grip for a scout's hands. The spoon's bowl is created by slicing diagonally down into the tip of the branch, exposing a smooth, pale inner grain. Originally introduced through trade with the forest folks, this rugged design is heavily favored by the scouts because the unpeeled bark reinforces the integrity of the wood, making it durable to scrape the bottom of a hymru without splintering.

How I made this drawing
I thought that I would be creating a real life spoon but that is too obvious so I opted for a more rustic piece that looks like a branch

I got the shape right because I am dealing with practically a straight piece of branch. I love the pale wood and dark bluish green colors for the base

To further define the look I started adding some textures like the lines and bumps on the green handle and a little highlights on the carved spoon

The texture takes a little longer to create I stopped once it is already looking like a spoon. On this stage I added the final touches like shadow and light

It was fun making this piece I was able to make it in one go and no major revisions needed. I now completed three eating implement and I am happy
