Feliz y bendecido día

Happy and blessed day

Debemos quererlos, respetarlos y cuidarlos.

Hi, friends. This time I want to tell you about an experience I had with my mom, since I took her to the clinic the other day. Eight months ago, she had an accident at home: she fainted and fell to the floor, and since she hit a metal pillar, she injured a vertebra in the fall, and that little bump left her bedridden. So we had to take her to the doctor to get her checked out and have some X-rays taken, and these tests revealed that she had a compression fracture of the L3 vertebra.

At that time, we had to see an orthopedist, who suggested she wear a brace for six months; another doctor wanted to operate on her, but we didn’t want her to undergo surgery, so the solution was to have her wear a brace. So recently we had to take her back to the clinic to see the orthopedist to find out what she needed to do this time and how she was progressing. When we arrived at the clinic, we waited for the doctor, and when he arrived, he saw us right away since we were the first ones there. The doctor examined my mother and confirmed that she was doing very well; he told her to take off the orthopedic brace. But this time, she’ll have to do physical therapy and some exercises at home to continue her recovery.

My mother is an 85-year-old woman who suffers from high blood pressure and cardiac arrhythmia. However, she is very active, and now, after that fall, she wants to stay home and is afraid to go out. Inside the house, she takes short walks. I can tell you that we left the doctor’s office feeling much more at ease, since the doctor felt she was doing much better and thanks to the treatment plan my mother now has to follow—although we still need to schedule an appointment for her therapy sessions.

Well, friends, we must provide our parents with a good quality of life so that they can feel happy and full of vitality in their later years. Those who honor their parents never regret it. We must love, respect, and care for them.
