Pond life : My Actifit Report Card: July 27 2026

Today while in Guildford on one of those regular trips which are unavoidable, I had some spare time to visit two ponds. Well, one is more like a lake due to it's size, with larger fish swimming near the surface gasping for some air in this heat!

There are two patches of water lilys. The blooms are wonderful and at their best right now.

However, the best show was to be found in the castle grounds. A lovely small pond right at the foot of the castle keep. The lilys here are gorgeous 😍.

The days are getting hotter again and this afternoon was on the boundary of being uncomfortable. We have another heatwave here in the UK. Lets make the most of it! 😆

I am arranging a cycle ride for Wednesday. That will be interesting! 🥵. We'll have to set off early as possible to beat the heat.
