Description from Strava: Well, better late than never!

I had aimed to complete the long run on saturday morning, but I was tired after yet another busy week, and so took it easy instead. I then though about heading out in the afternoon, but I kept procrastinating and the time slipped away.

it was a very restful Saturday in the end, probably something I really needed!

I was heading out this morning to visit the Bomber Command Memorial Centre:

There was an opportunity to go for a run before we headed out, but again I procrastinated, and so it was only after I arrived back home at 2pm, was I finally in the mood to get the run done!

Decided that I really wanted to get approx 20km done (or around 2 hours of running) and so picked a route that looped round a selection if local villages. At the Halfway point, there was an option for me to cut it short for 15km, or keep going for the full loop.

I wanted to give myself an easy option in case I was struggling in the heat, or with tiredness, but as it turned out I felt pretty good throughout, so did the full loop as planned. Managed to average 5:56min/km overall, so a pretty good pace considering it was an easy effort

Now to crack on with chores in preparation for for a new week of work (ironing, hoovering, cleaning, you know the drill), and FYI I will not be watching England at 1am, as 1 I'm not overly bothered about football, and 2 I have to get up at 6am. It's not even the feckin' Final, so not quite sure why everyone else is making such a big deal of it!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)
