Killer Ace of Hearts (now calmer amidst the earthquakes, able to draw)

Happy Sunday to everyone in #sketchbook.

I’m finally settling down a bit after the stressful days caused by the earthquakes in Venezuela. I posted something on #hive a couple of days ago, but only today have I been able to think clearly enough to create better illustrations.

Today’s piece depicts a nightmarish world—a killer playing card that could easily belong in Wonderland. That was actually the inspiration: I was thinking about American McGee’s Alice games, but I wanted to reimagine the classic cards from Alice’s world in my own style. I’m really happy with how it turned out. As always, you can see the process here.
