Add ''Yes/No and ''Voice over'' feature on Om recorder
Components
Om recorder is an android application that is used for recording purposes. It is an open source application that is loved by many.
Proposal
I'll be making two proposal today which are very important to the app.
I noticed that the app doesn't have a feature that allows users to choose if they want to save a recorded file or not. I suggest that the developers of this app should make it possible for users to be able to choose if they want to save a particular recorded file or not.
I also suggest that the developers of this app should add the 'voice over' feature to the app.
Mockups / Examples
- The screenshot will show how this will look like when implemented...
Presently on the app, when a user press the stop button the file saves automatically.
But i suggest it should come up this way when a user click stop...(See picture below)
The screenshot will show where the 'Voice over' feature will be placed and how to use it..
After making your recording, you go to your file and open the recording you wish to voice over, you click on the option menu shown on the picture below
When you click on the option menu you'll find the 'Voice over' feature among other options. Then you click on 'Voice over' to start recording over your recording. (See picture)
Benefits
By adding the yes/no feature for users to actually choose if they want to save the file or not will be useful to the app itself and it's users, because it will allow the user cancel a file that is not recorded properly easily rather than going through the stress of accessing his file folders before he can actually delete the file he doesn't want. Presently on the app, when once you finish recording, the file is saved automatically weather you want it or not. Adding this feature will give the app something new and make it smarter, As users can cancel a file they don't want instantly rather than having to go to their recorded files before the can do that.
A 'Voice over' feature is one great and important feature that every recording app should get. This allows the user to voice over the previous recording in case they is a correction to be made, it helps different characters to record on a single file at a different time, especially in advert, radio play, short skit etc. With the help of 'voice over' one person can play a different character with different voice on the same recording, because it will help him record over the file as much times as he want. This is good for users who uses this app to record themselves singing, it will them back up their previous recording to make it more perfect and nice.
