Is Gold profitable? [EN/DE]

Lately, I see Gold and Silver maxis promoting to go long on precious metals. On one hand, yes, they are right because Gold and Silver have been performing quite well in the recent months as compared to equity. On the other hand if we look further into the past Gold hardly comes close to S&P or Dow Jones. Let's be careful while listening to metal maxis. 😉
