Life hits hard!

First of all: my apologies for the lack of recent activity, the second half of 2018 proved to be a life-changing one, as I relocate back to Europe while becoming a dad all at the same time. While it's super exciting, it also takes a ton of planning and preparation to ensure a smooth transition. Can't believe it's my last few months in Asia!

Photogrammetry for Augmented Reality

Professionally, I've been fascinated with the idea of photogrammetry - being able to obtain very accurate 3D scans just with your phone. All it takes is a series of photos of the object from all angles and a few different software packages for processing and cleaning up the model.

The best workflow I managed to create goes as follows:

• Reality Capture 2.0 - processing the photographs and extracting the model
• Zbrush - cleaning up the model and optimizing the mesh
• 3dsmax - for adding additional items and unwrapping the UV
• Sketchfab- for augmented reality preview
