My Opinion About Abortion

I was raised religiously, and have served in music ministry for many years. While I know that a lot of conservative christians frown upon abortion, it's not always the case, and it can be very damaging to generalize groups of people – any group of people – in that way.
While I personally do not agree with abortion unless certain extenuating circumstances come into play, such as sa, a threat to the health of the mother, or a pregnancy that is not viable long-term, I do not feel that it is my place, the church's, or anyone else's to make that decision for another person.
That being said, I do understand the importance of abortion being legal and available for people to undergo safely and under supervised medical care. Without it, abortions will not end, they will simply be carried out more quietly and will inevitably put the health and safety of those seeking help at risk.
