In my opinion cryptocurrencies provides financial freedom by removing the middleman, it puts your financial decisions in your own hands. This is significantly different than a tool built to evade sanctions or taxes.
I may believe that taxes are illegal. That they have evolved to exist in a manner never intended and that the funds I have earned are being used for criminal activity by the governments. I may also believe it should be a essential human right to have the freedom to make that choice without outside forces making me to do so without my consent. Cash provides that financial freedom, doesn't mean I would advertise it as such or suggest that it is a tool for avoiding sanctions. Especially when the government eyes are so closely focused on regulating crypto out of existence primarily because of the international struggle session over the flow of cross border funds currently .
