Lo and Behold, Reveries of the Connected World
Werner Herzog has long been a special filmmaker who has a way of finding and presenting people in different spheres of life and showing how extraordinary they all are, and this film is no exception, and because of that it is quite unlike other films which have looked at this subject.
Made in 2016 the film looks at many aspects of the internet from its founding and flourishing; its dark side and how do we extend it to other planets. It also looks at future prospects with a glimpse of the world of Artificial Intelligence and the internet of things (IoT).
Along the way he manages to speak to some very interesting people, from scientists to addicts to entrepreneurs to hackers. All of them come alive with their unique personalities and quirks, and provide different perspectives around life online in the 21st century.
