Should I Refurbish the Old Rusty Button?
Some in HIVE community might recognise this if they were there in SF Bangkok 2019, when I was there attending the first ever (and was the last) SF as I gave this button to many of the attendees there.
To my surprise I started noticing that there were some black patches on the button I kept for myself.
I was wondering how did that happened, and after scraping some of the surface I was Horrified with the amount of rust! I hope the rest who kept it still didn't have this problem.
Always wondering how it really made, I decided to remove the layers.
Thinking that it was plastic film covering the metal button, I found out it was just paper on a plastic film finishing as covering.
Scraping off all the rust wasn't a field trip either, but I am glad that I took most of it off, leaving a "metal blacken scar" behind.
What should I do with this? It isn't really huge, so I am wondering how I should re-decorate in the litht of my #junk2glamour project?
Obviously it isn't as tight as before, and I will definitely coat it with an anti rust paint first before proceeding with other decorations.
What do you think? Do share me your thoughts on what you would do to repurpose a button? 😉
ps: This is my old (lost and found) account, which I managed to retrieve my password after misplacing it for 1 year. is my main account now; but this will be my account specially for commercial and charity use.
