Finding ways to fix imperfections
You know there are times the more you tried to be careful, the more messy it becomes?
This is what happened to some of the containers when splashes of spray paint pink went into the inner part of the container, and it didn't looks artistic.
I had to scrap out the splashed paints but because I was sanding it off, the original gold undercoat was also damaged.
High and low I searched through to find a suitable gold, or else I might attempt to find metallic black, however straying on it would create more messiness and in the end I decided to use water bases permanent markers to fix the patches.
Turned out I found one pretty pricy pen (in MYR) around 2.50 HBD (USD approximately) and the colour turned out really close! 🙌🏼
But I still decided to re-coat a layer just to make it look more even.
Upcycling takes time, and really it cannot be rushed. No doubt it did mention "quick dry" and "non acidic", but I am going to give it a few days rest just to make sure it is thoroughly dried up inside.
Though I only got one ink pen, but I always love to see those colourful pen display. They just brightens the day.
