Splinterlands | Equalizer Battle Challenge
Another rule set is highlighted this week in the Share Your Battle Challenge for Splinterlands. This is the Equalizer Game Rule.
This for sure is one of the more interesting rulesets which brings something completely different to matches. It also turns the weakness of some cards with just 1 health but otherwise really powerful stats into a power. The general way to win these matches in the past used to be to let your opponent be the one that brings the monster with the highest health. However, the average mana cap has increased a lot over the years (since they needed players to buy packs and this was done by printing a lot of higher mana monsters up to 14 Mana which dominate the meta as the cap also was increased). Healing also tends to be quite powerful with this game rule as the higher the health, the more gets healed.
For this match where only Earth and Dragon splinters were allowed, I opted to go for a Melee Centered team that also nerfs magic damage which turned out to be the right call as my opponent played the Obsidian Summoner. I played my Arkemis The Bear as main tank neglecting my own rules as it was the monster that provided the highest health. I followed this with the Carnage Titan which was protected against Melee & Ranged attack with the shield ability but also against Magic damage as I played both the Mushroom Seer and the Goblin Psychic to reduce the magic attack of the enemy monsters -2. These also provided the Poison, Tank Heal and Affliction abilities which all are useful in these game rules. To complete my deck, I needed 2 3-mana monsters and I opted for the Screeching Vulture in 3rd spot and the Earth Elemental in last place which has self-heal.
My opponent played the speed game which isn't effective when one of the rules is Aim True as monsters can't miss. So this was a 100% win according to Splintertools.
