Raid of Evesham Abbey.

I led the Raven Clan warriors on a sudden river raid against Evesham Abbey instead of letting them return home to rest. We crashed ashore, engaged in brutal hand-to-hand combat, defeated the defenders, and breached the Abbey to secure valuable supplies before sailing off to our next target.

Instead of letting the Raven Clan warriors return to the home base for some well-deserved rest, I called them back into action for a river raid. They were getting ready to unwind, but there was no time to lose.

I ordered everyone back into the longship, turned the vessel around, and set a course down the winding river toward unfamiliar territory.

As we navigated the tight waterways, the crew faced a few pathing mistakes so we had to stop and turn the longship around to row on a river line where we never have been.

Before long, the stone arches of a bridge appeared, forcing us to lower the mast so we would not smash our vessel against the structure.

There were shallow stretches where we could not even unfurl the sail. We had to row manually until the waters deepened again.

Once clear, we raised the sails again and pressed onward until the imposing walls of Evesham Abbey came into view.

The moment our longship hit the shoreline, I blew the horn and leaped into the fray alongside my crew. Enemy soldiers rushed down to meet us, but we overwhelmed them immediately.

A spear charger tried to pin me down, but I parried his blow, wrested the weapon from his hands, and impaled him with his own spear.

Another defender charged in, only for me to crush his skull beneath my boot. We fought through the open courtyard, cutting down every guard who stood in our way, including a heavily armored warrior who thought his massive shield would save him.

With the defenders dead or fleeing, it was time to plunder the abbey. I called upon my crewmates to help me force open the massive, locked wooden doors leading into the main hall. Inside, we found heavy chest filled with raw materials, which required two of us to pry open.

I checked another burnt-out house, but the main door was barred from the inside. Around the back, I spotted an opening in the wooden wall and slipped through.

Using my instincts, I glanced upward and noticed a hidden loot chest tucked away on an upper platform that I almost missed. I climbed up, claimed the remaining supplies, and leaped back down into the smoky courtyard.

Once we were done collecting raw materials from the abbey, wee boarded the longship once more, pushed off from the bloody shore, and raised the sail, ready to ride the river toward our next conquest.
