Greetings community, I hope you're enjoying your weekend, that it's restorative and the perfect opportunity to escape the weekly routine. Speaking of which, yesterday I was returning from the lab, a bit grumpy because I'm on vacation and they called me in to inspect our lab due to the earthquake and subsequent aftershocks. I thought this inspection would be on Monday or Wednesday, but with the disorganization they have with these inspections, it ended up being on Friday, and it took me almost the entire morning and a good part of the afternoon because I had to re-inventory all the liquid and lyophilized reagents we had on the shelves and in the fume hood. In the end, I got back at 5 pm in a bad mood because I had only had breakfast and had to make a quick lunch.

It was then that I lay down for a moment on the bed while checking my daily challenges in Splinterlands, but I was almost falling asleep while entering my battles. But then it happened. Just as I was about to close my eyes to sleep and almost drop my phone, a beam of light came in through the window and woke me up. It was the sunset, which I could see almost horizontally, disappearing behind the buildings on the horizon. But in the agony of dusk, the red light of the afternoon coming through my window projected an interesting shadow on the walls of my room, which I thought would be worth sharing for this SMASH contest round #438.

I had previously taken photographs of shadows at twilight; in fact, I think I have a series on the subject for these contests. But in those entries, I went out into the street, plaza, or avenues to hunt for the shadows. This time, however, was different because the shadow came to me! This is why I wanted to title this post "Intrusive Shadows," since, as you can see, they extend deep into the wall where my bedroom entrance is located. Time was of the essence, as the sun was practically about to set completely, and I would lose the opportunity to capture this shadow, which created a strong contrast with the orange light coming in through my window. First, I took a photograph of the shadows, which appeared to be stretched to the extreme. This was, of course, the projection of the light, almost horizontally, casting the shadows of my plants as if a force were "spaghettifying" the shadow and thus projecting it across the entire expanse of my room. Similarly, the bars of the window grille cast an equally interesting shadow on the wall, as if something were distorting them. Finally, with the photos of the shadows captured, I took some last shots of the last rays of sunlight filtering through the leaves of my plants as I watched the sunset over the city. Only now, as I write these lines, do I realize that it was more of a gift from nature after a long day of work than an intrusion.

The process of capturing this shadow was quite interesting, as I wasn't prepared to be greeted by it; it was simply serendipity that brought the pieces together so that everything could finally materialize. Justamente hablando de eso, ayer regresaba del laboratorio, un poco de mal humor porque estoy en mis vacaciones y me llamaron para hacer una inspección de nuestro laboratorio por toda la cuestion del terremoto y las sucesivas réplicas. Pensé que esta inspección sería el lunes o el miércoles, pero con el desorden que tienen con la organización de estas inspecciones terminó siendo el viernes y me tomo casi toda la mañana y buena parte de la tarde porque tuve que inventariar nuevamente todos los reactivos liquidos y liofilizados que teníamos en los estantes y campana de extracción. Al final termine regresando a las 5 pm de mal humor porque solo había desayunado y tuve que llegar haciendo un almuerzo rápido.

Fue entonces que me recosté un momento en la cama mientras revisaba mis retos diarios en Splinterlands pero me estaba casi quedando dormido mientras metía mis batallas. Pero luego sucedió, entre que estaba casi cerrando los ojos para dormirme y casi dejando caer el móvil, desde la ventana entró un haz de luz que me despertó y era la puesta del sol que podía verlo casi horizontalmente ocultándose entre los edificios en el horizonte. Pero en la agonía del ocaso, la luz roja de la tarde que entraba desde mi ventana proyectaba una interesante sombra en las paredes de mi cuarto que me pareció que valdría la pena compartirla para este concurso SMASH round #438.

Ya había tomado anteriormente fotografías de sombras en el crepúsculo, de hecho creo que tengo una serie al respecto en estos concursos, pero en esas participaciones yo salía a la calle, plaza o avenidas a cazar las sombras, pero este caso fue diferente ya que la sombra vino a por mi! Esta es la razón por la que quise titular esta publicación como Sombras Intrusivas, ya que como pueden ver se extienden en frofundidad hasta la pared donde esta la entrada de mi habitacion. El tiempo apremiaba ya que el sol estaba prácticamente por ocultarse completamente y perdería la oportunidad de capturar esta sombra que marcaba un fuerte contraste con la luz naranja que entraba desde mi ventana, Primero tome la fotografía de las sombras que parecía estar estiradas al extremo era por supuesto la proyección de la luz casi de forma horizontal proyectaban las sombras de mis plantas como si fuera una fuerza que estaba "espaguetizando" la sombra y por tanto proyectándola en toda la extensión de mi cuarto. De igual forma, los barrotes de la reja en la ventana generaron una sombra igualmente interesante sobre la pared, como si algo las estuviera deformando. Por último, ya con las fotos de las sombras capturadas, tomé unas últimas capturas de los últimos rayos de sol pasando entre las hojas de mis plantas mientras contemplaba el ocaso en la ciudad. Solo ahora que estoy escribiendo estas líneas pienso que más que una intrusión fue un regalo de la naturaleza después de un largo día de trabajo.

Fue bastante interesante el proceso de captura de esta sombra, ya que no estaba preparado para ser recibido por ella, fue simplemente la causalidad la que justo las piezas para que finalmente todo se pudiera materializar.
