The teaching of the old path is telling us that it's not a life of asceticism or hope. This shows the scripture that God does not leave his servant ignorant of the future or the prophecy.

Jesus said in John, It is given before it happens so that our faith may be strengthened. That alone changes how a believer should live. This message also corrects the partial mindset of whatever we be, we be.

Proverbs 16:9 makes it clear. We are meant to plan. We are meant to live a life of purpose. We are meant to think ahead. Why we trust God to direct us there?
Faith is not just listening. It is the cooperation that we have with the will of God. This reminder about death from Ecclesiastes and Hebrews is very, very powerful. Knowing that we will die one day. And judgment gives way to every decision. This calls to all believers to live intentionally, not casually.

Ephesians 2:10 also reveals that the message, our lives are not just a random life. We were created for the good works of God.
The servant of God therefore lives mostly with clarity. Knowing that in this end, his purpose and his responsibility before God is very important than any other thing else.
