Family Sunset Walk and Italian Feast (A Perfect Early Evening Near Home)
Our family sunset walk to a German Bistro next door
Everything was chill and calm
The view from our table
Chatting while waiting for our food
The sea and the sky
Look at that view
Waves crashing
Happy Hump Day, y'all, amazing people. And you know what's famous about Hump Days? It's Wednesday Walk Day.
You know sometimes, the best things happen unexpectedly, right? This wasn't some crazy trip to a faraway place; it was a super chill afternoon. My family went for a short walk (like 2-minute walk) near our place, ended up at a German bistro for an amazing Italian dinner, and watched a gorgeous sunset. It was all so easy and relaxing, and we had a blast as a family.
Let me tell you, these past few weeks have been a whirlwind here at the kubo (our small accomodation business). Non-stop work, barely any time to ourselves, you know the drill. So, on that early evening, we looked at the clock and realized – uh oh, dinner time! And we hadn't planned anything. Cooking was a definite no-go. I was so beat, the thought of even peeling a potato seemed like climbing Mount Everest. We needed an easy solution, something quick and delicious. So, there we were, completely wiped out and staring at the prospect of a late, stressful dinner. Then, it hit us: why cook when we could just walk next door? Our little kubo is right next to this awesome German bistro, owned by a super friendly German guy. They've got all sorts of food – German stuff, of course, but also tons of other options. We'd been eating pretty much the same thing for weeks, so we were craving something different. Italian sounded perfect and a delicious change of pace!
It's so convenient having the bistro right next to a small kubo cabins! We passed by the small pool on our way in; the water was so still, you could see the resort building reflected in it. It was a really nice touch, setting the mood for dinner. We didn't swim, but it definitely added to the relaxed atmosphere. It felt like we were on vacation, even though we were just a short walk from home! Now, I have to confess: there are no photos of the food. We were that hungry. Let's just say the plates of pasta vanished in a whirlwind of happy slurps and satisfied sighs. We each ordered different pasta dishes and I can't recall what my husband and daughter chose, but I opted for the pesto pasta, and let me tell you, it was divine. Creamy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked like it was a culinary masterpiece. Every bite was a tiny burst of happiness. Everyone's pasta was amazing! You could tell the chef really knew what they were doing. It was such a satisfying meal – the flavors were great, and the pasta had the perfect texture. The only thing was, it was a bit pricey. Three plates of pasta cost us about 50 US dollars, which is around 2500 pesos. But honestly, it was worth it. The food was delicious, the sunset was gorgeous, and the whole atmosphere was so nice. We'll definitely remember this dinner for a long time.
The food was great, but honestly, the best part of the evening was everything else. We were sitting there eating, and the sun started setting. The sky just exploded with color – bright oranges, soft yellows, and some deep purples from afar. It was incredible. And the waves were crashing against the shore, making this really soothing sound. It was like we were watching a free concert put on by nature, and it was absolutely stunning. The combination of the yummy food, the gorgeous sunset, and those calming waves – it was just perfect. It felt truly priceless.
Okay, so after dinner, we decided to take a walk on the beach. The sand was cool and soft on our feet, and the air smelled so fresh and salty. It was the perfect way to end the night. We just walked and talked and laughed. It was so relaxing, and it was really nice to just spend some time together as a family. Sometimes, the simplest things are the best, right? It wasn't just a walk, it was a total escape. We'd been so busy lately, and it was great to just get away from all the stress of work and everything else. It was a chance to reconnect with each other, appreciate the beautiful sunset, and just enjoy the little things. And the best part? It was all right next door! You don't always have to go far to have an amazing time. Sometimes, the best adventures are the ones you find unexpectedly, right in your own backyard. You might even see a family enjoying a spontaneous Italian dinner, all lit up by the sunset. It's a pretty magical sight!
That's all for today and see you on my next walk adventures. Have a fantastic day, my friends!
