Buy The Truth
Buy the Truth and Sell It Not
Truth doesn’t come cheap. It may not require your money, but it will cost you time, effort, humility, and sometimes even friendships. To ‘buy the truth’ means to actively seek wisdom, to invest in learning, and to embrace honesty even when it is uncomfortable.
In practical living, this looks like:
Choosing integrity at work, even when cutting corners seems easier.
Standing by your values, even if it makes you unpopular.
Admitting when you’re wrong, instead of defending your pride.
Continually learning, reading, and growing, because ignorance is always more expensive in the long run.
And then the second part: ‘sell it not’.
Once you’ve discovered what is true, don’t trade it for convenience, shortcuts, or temporary gain. The world will often give you tempting offers; comfort, applause, or profit in exchange for compromise. Don’t sell out.
Truth is a lifelong asset. Unlike money, it doesn’t depreciate. Unlike fame, it doesn’t fade. And unlike trends, it doesn’t expire. Buy it with all you have and once it’s yours, guard it with all you are.
