DIY// making a ladies hand purse with the combination of two fabrics.
Hello everyone
Happy new week and a lovely Monday to you all in this great community #needleworkmonday, I hope you all had a great weekend. This week I pray for grace, peace and greater accomplishments on whatever we lay our hands to do. Today, it is with so much joy that I will be sharing with you the making of ladies hand purse with the combination of two colors of fabric and I'm sure you will like the beautiful outcome.
Sometimes ago, I made an outfit for my sister in-law and from the completed project, I have some left over fabric, those pieces were kept in a bag that I usually keep my left over pieces, until yesterday when I saw those pieces again and thought of making a purse with it for my sister in-law as a surprise gift and I'm very sure she will like and appreciate it.
A long piece was brought out from those pieces and I noticed it would not be enough for the size I wanted, so the best way is to combined it with another piece of fabric to have my desired measurements.
Join me as I take you through the cutting and sewing process of this beautiful ladies hand purse I made
I measured and cut out 2 pieces from the main fabric measuring 3 x 24" and another white fabric with same measurements to be combined with it
The 3 pieces of fabric were taken to the sewing machine to be sewn together with the white fabric at the middle
The seam line were neatly ironed and interfacing was ironed on the wrong side
I marked 6 inches and folded the top to the 6 inches i marked
It was opened up and folded to half again
From the top, i folded it to the bottom just as seen below
I made a curve at the top and also marked on both sides, it was sewn together on my sewing machine following the curve I made
The excess we trimmed off from both sides and the edges as well
Then, it was turned to the right side through the opening at the bottom
I took it to my sewing machine and it was sewn together at the bottom
It was turned to the right again through the pocket and I have a neat finishing with the rough bottom inside the pocket
I used my hand needle and thread to fix a press button and the hook on both sides at the middle
This is the final and beautiful outcome of the ladies hand purse I made with the combination of two fabrics
I hope you like the beautiful outcome of the purse with phone, cash, card and any other things that can be kept in it.
This ladies hand purse looks great with the combination of these two fabrics and I'm sure my sister in-law will love it.
Thanks so much for your time, support, comment and encouragement. Until my next post, do have a great and productive week.
