I promised a follow up on this project about 3 months ago and life kept on getting in the way, so finally I find a moment to recap a conclusion post.

IMG_9070.JPGthe main frame was passed on to a friend carpenter to have the doors fitted to it on both sides. 2 doors on each side, 4 in total.
after he did his deed, I start mounting the pieces into the massive and heavy structure that it becomes with every component added.

IMG_9073.JPGonce this is all done, there are a few more things to follow.
first, I wrap protect the main frame for transport and possible rain since now, even if I could lift it, it wouldn´t fit through the door.
second, I add a couple of traversal beams for the loading and unloading unto the truck, to avoid possible scissor movement from snapping the whole thing.
and third, I cut 10cm off of the bottom of both main posts, as while digging the holes I hit a rocky layer at 70cm. the original plan was for 80cm, so not that bad.

Installation day 1:

IMG_9085.JPGit took four of us strong country men to lift the beast over to the truck bed. so heavy, I wasn´t even too worried about securing it for the trip.

IMG_9086.JPGmy smiley helper has enough experience to know he should pose for a photo before breaking a sweat..

IMG_9089.JPGonce upright and properly supported, the easy part is making cement in the wheel barrow. we did have to make a run for extra sand as we advanced as the small 70cm deep holes swallowed a ridiculous amount of cement.

IMG_9091.JPGthe end of day 1. the board is leveled up and cemented and needs a few days to properly dry.

Installation day 2:

IMG_9103.JPGwith the cement now dry enough, I come back, on my own this time to finish up. first, laying the roof boards in a weather board manner.

IMG_9106.JPGthen I apply Linseed oil to the whole structure. making it nice and shiny for delivery 😊

IMG_9107.JPGthen the 4 doors are placed, fitted with high quality UV resistant acrylic polycarbonate for our fierce local sun.

the board is officially delivered to a satisfied customer and I am pretty proud 🙃

IMG_9181.JPGabout a week later I come by for the last time to install a plaque naming the client who donated the notice board to her village and me as the builder.
