Start somewhere
I used to be the kind of person who had beautiful ideas but never acted on them. I would imagine the possibilities, make plans in my head, even talk about them with friends, but when it was time to take actions, fear and procrastination would take over thereby becoming so comfortable
I kept telling myself different excuses like;
I'm not ready yet, what if it doesn’t work, what if people laugh at me?”
The truth was, I was waiting for the perfect moment to begin. I wanted to start big, look prepared and have everything figured out before making a move. But days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months and into years of doing absolutely nothing with the ideas I once felt excited about.
Then one evening, I listened to a podcast session by Jay Shetty, "On Purpose with Jay Shetty". He spoke about how many people stay trapped in their comfort zones because they are too afraid to begin imperfectly. One line stood out to me deeply: “Start somewhere.”
That statement felt personal
It made me realize that life does not reward only the people who start perfectly, it rewards the people who start at all. Every successful person once began with uncertainty, little resources, and plenty of fear, the difference is that they moved anyway.
Since then, I stopped waiting for everything to align before taking action. I learn that small beginnings are not something to be ashamed of. In fact, they are often the foundation of something great.
Sometimes, the biggest thing holding us back is not failure, but the fear of trying.
But you will never truly know what you are capable of if you keep sitting on your dreams.
So whatever idea has been sitting in your heart for too long, this is your sign for you to start somewhere. Even if the step is small, take it.
Remember one small action today can completely change your tomorrow.
