Inktober D-1: Mustache
IT IS OCTOBER 1!!!!!!!!!
AND IT IS FINALLY INKTOBER AAAAHHHH!!!
So, I have failed so many of my art challenges this year and I am certainly not happy about my failures this year. well, I wouldn't say failures when this year probably hasn't been the kindest on my emotional and mental. I wouldn't go over the details, but I think I'm just happy the year is almost over, I have a few new opportunities lining up for me by December onwards and hopefully by next year, I can start crossing off things on my bucket list u
Going back, for today's inktober prompt we have mustache! And of all the people I know that have the mustache, I would say Salvador Dali would be my go-to for mustache things XD The dude does crazy things with that mustache and I live for it!
Materials: Ink, black pen and marker, white pencil
Duration: 3 hours
For the progression, I started with the sketch and the marker layer because I really thought the marker would speed things up for me... but along the way, I wasn't so convinced XD
I do appreciate that my darker graphite is working wonders for my hand now though, I don't need to do the lines so heavy or go over them too many times for me to actually see my lines.
This was the start of my pen layer, and I ended up using 2 different pens for this one. A very thin pilot pen and my usual bic pen. And I love how thin the pilot pen lines are that they can actually fill in the grays and the light shading I need.
I was watching Wednesday while doing the drawing so I kind of got distracted and forgot the step by step XD butttt this is basically when I was almost done. About 2+ hours in? And I was still just trying to even out the tones and the shadows. Still, not bad for someone who hasn't done portraits or trad in a while ^^
That is day 1 for me!!!
How's everyone's inktober starting off?
Good luck to everyone challenging themselves this year! May we all get as far as we can with the prompts!
