Great Depression
Great Depression had very little to do about fiscal issues and a lot to do with peoples emotional dispositions... Aptly named the Great Depression because people were not happy. Why were they not happy? Because many mainstream Americans at the time got greedy and gave a bunch of Wall Street sharks their money in hopes of big returns... but then, those people got greedy-er and crashed the economy so they could live like kings with everyone else’s money... greed is a disease.... and it has repercussions.
After the crash, you had a bunch of depressed broke people who felt they had no fiscal future because Wall Street did what it always does.... how are you gonna blame the money people for wanting to fleece the sheep? That’s what they do. But the more important lesson is really about emotion, economies get depressed when people’s emotional state is low and disenfranchised. Then people suffer. Life is about happiness and happiness creates money.
So if you are gonna start a business, invest in a business or anything of the sort make sure that somehow it creates happiness in the world. And most importantly you can judge the health of an economy by the happiness of its people... one definition of enlightenment I have heard is becoming impenetrable to what anyone does think or says around you.... then you are always rich
