First honey

Less than a week has passed since we got an apiary, as we are already pumping honey.

The previous owner of the apiary did not have time to pump out some of the honey, so we had to do it. Of course, we don't have much experience, but the pumping procedure is not complicated, the main thing is that there is an appropriate inventory.

First of all, we took the honey frames from the bees.

Then we removed the lid from the honeycomb

Then we placed the prepared frames in a honey extractor. Our honey extractor accommodates 8 narrow or 4 wide frames.

And then we started the process of pumping honey. We have a manual honey extractor, so all pumping consists in uniform rotating the handle first clockwise and then counterclockwise, not forgetting to turn the frames with honey.

After some time, honey flows from the frames to the bottom of the honey extractor. The frames are removed and we can drain the honey.

We poured part of the honey into a metal barrel, and part immediately into a plastic container with a volume of 3 and 1 liter (it's more convenient to sell this way)

Honey turned out to be very chic. In a couple of days we pumped out 30 liters. It would be possible to do more, but since we started pumping too late, a lot of honey has crystallized in the honeycombs and it cannot be extracted with the help of a honey extractor. I think we will solve this problem somehow.

Honey turned out to be so delicious that we sold 14 liters in 1 day. I was very pleased with this result. I hope we can pump out some more honey before the end of the week.
