How to Make Kolak Talas
Hi Foodies, do you know about taro? in Indonesian we call it "Talas". Taro is a kind of tuber that is processed in various kinds of food. It can be sweet, salty, or spicy.
This time I want to make Kotak Talas. In my language "Kotal Talas" mean taro compote. The taste of taro when making compote will be chewy coupled with the sweetness of brown sugar that seeps into the savory coconut milk sauce.
You can enjoy it warm or cold. Oh, the ingredients for this compote are not only taro, it can be replaced with sweet potatoes, cassava.

Ingredients
- Taro (1 pcs)
- Brown sugar (250 gr)
- Grated coconut
- Pandan leaves
- Sugar
- Salt
How To Make
Squeeze the grated coconut into 2 parts of coconut milk. Thick coconut milk for the first squeeze and liquid coconut milk for the second squeeze.
Cut the taro into dice. Put the liquid coconut milk into the pan. Then add taro, brown sugar and pandan leaves. Cook until boiling.
Finally, add thick coconut milk, cook until boiling.
The taro compote is ready to be served, either warm or cold.
