She couldn't get the chilling words her godmother had said out of her mind: "Joaquín is your brother, that relationship is completely impossible." No, it couldn't be true, this was hell.

All she wanted to do was think over and over about his kisses, his caresses, the long nights of love, and the promises they had made to each other. That was all that mattered to her. But then those words came back, tormenting her mind.

Why had her mother never told her about the son her father had fathered in his teens? Why hadn't they considered that something like this could ever happen, that the world was a small place and sometimes rolling stones could meet? Now her life was destroyed, and she had no desire to live. That truth was too heavy to bear.

In the middle of the rainy night she began to scream over and over again: "Noooo, he's not my brother," and in a bath of sweat and tears, Teodora awoke from that macabre dream that had kept her startled all night.

No podía apartar de su mente las palabras escabrosas que le dijera su madrina: "Joaquín es tu hermano, esa relación es totalmente imposible". No, no podía ser verdad, eso era un infierno.

Sólo quería pensar una y otra vez en sus besos, sus caricias, las largas noches de amor y las promesas que ambos se profesaron. Era lo único que tenía importancia para ella. Pero nuevamente venían aquellas palabras que atormentaban su mente.

¿Por qué su madre jamás le habló de ese hijo que había tenido su padre en la adolescencia? ¿Por qué no pensaron que algo así podría pasar alguna vez, que el mundo era un puñito y a veces las piedras rodando se podían encontrar? Ahora su vida estaba destruida y ella no tenía deseos de vivir. Esa verdad era demasiado pesada para soportarla.

En medio de la noche lluviosa comenzó a gritar una y otra vez: "Noooo, no es mi hermano", y en un baño de sudor y llanto, Teodora despertó de aquel macabro sueño que la había tenido toda la madrugada sobresaltada.
