Splinterlands Art Contest Week 286 : The Angry Exploding Dwarf

Hello Splinterlands Fans! Today, I will show you my entry for this week’s Splinterland fan art challenge, and I will also share the steps on how I created my Fan Art.

So for this week, I chose to draw Exploding Dwarf.

Exploding Dwarf is a fire element with the ability to blast.

Steps in drawing:
Outline

The first thing I did was draw a muscular anatomy that is somewhat short because Exploding Dwarf is a Dwarf. I made him slightly round to make him look stout.

Once I had the desired shape, I started drawing the characteristics of Exploding Dwarf to resemble his image.

After roughing out his clothes, hair, and hammer, I thickened the outline and cleaned it to start coloring.

Coloring
For coloring, I started with solid colors, mimicking the colors in the Splinterlands Lore of Exploding Dwarf.

After indicating the colors on each part of Exploding Dwarf, I began adding highlights and shading to the drawing. I still used solid colors for coloring but added darker shades for shadows and lighter shades for highlights.

I made Exploding Dwarf’s hair slightly wavy to give it a fiery appearance.

Background
For the background, I drew a flame and duplicated it 2 times, resizing it. I also used a smudge brush to fade the edges..

For the main background, I simply used a gradient of 2 colors.
