Splinterlands Art Contest Week 289: Ferocious Dog from the Underworld

Welcome to another new week of the Splinterlands Fan Art Contest where I draw one of my chosen Splinterlands characters and draw it in my own version.

Every week, I’m excited to draw and participate because not only do I have a chance to earn, but I also get to practice my drawing skills.

For this week, I chose my old favorite character under the Fire Element, Cerberus.

Cerberus is great to use when the battle has a low mana cap because its mana consumption is low and its stats are good. What I like most about it is its healing ability, which can really prolong the battle.

The first thing I did was outline the main dog, then I added two more heads to make it three-headed and become Cerberus.

Once I had the rough sketch sorted out, I cleaned up the outline and thickened the lines.

Next, I did the coloring, starting with the main colors. After finishing all the main colors, I added black shadows.

Once all the base colors were okay, I started shading. For shading, I just overlayed dark and light tones of the main color.

After finishing the coloring, I added a background.

I just added a simple background so as not to take away focus from the character. I just did a color gradient and experimented with colors that could be the character’s floor.

This is my final drawing.
