When Success Changes People

In this life, success is sweet and the secret is sweat, but sometimes it comes with many changes. Some of the changes are good, but truth be told, some can be very bad. I have see it with my own eyes how money and power can turn a humble person into someone else or arrogant completely.

There is one saying I always remember if you want to know the true color of somebody, just wait until they get small money, or when they climb to one position. You will be surprise. A friend that use to laugh with you, eat with you, even share small garri with you, once he make it, he may not even pick your call again. It’s like success sometimes bring pride along with it maybe they felt pride spirit along.

The thing is not that success is evil, no. It is good to be successful, we all pray for it. But the real matter is how people allow it to enter their head. Some start to feel like they are bigger than everybody, they stop respecting the people who once stand by them when they had nothing. Even family members, they will start looking down on them.

I believe true success is not only about money nor high position or having many properties, it is about still keeping your heart clean, may people happy, having a heart of giving to the needy and still being kind and humble no matter what you have. Because at the end of the day, respect and love is what people will remember, not how many cars you bought. And they always says people will always be remembered for two things the problem you create and the problem you solved, been a solution to people problems will always be an unforgettable action.

For me, I always pray that when success reach me, I should not forget where I come from not forget how humble I was and how generous I have always been. Because nothing pain pass when somebody you love and help you to rise now treat you like you are nothing.
