Five Minute Freewrite: Not What It Seems

Jane has been warned to stay away from the farm of Lucia even though many of her peers usually go in there and pick garden eggs to their satisfaction. Lucia at some point sent message across to virtually all the parents to warn their wards to desist from tampering with her farm.

That's fateful day, Jane was passing along that route and saw some abandoned egg plants on the way. They look robust and appetizing. So she bent down and picked up a few, cleaned them and started munching it away.

Having taken few steps, Jane ran into Lucia who was visibly angry having pursued away some 'invaders' from her farm. Upon sighting Jane she started yelling at her and calling her all sorts of names.

"Lucia, it's not what it seems, please". " I didn't go into your farm. I saw them on the road and decided to pick a few of them. That's how I saw it".

Lucia was not impressed at all. She held Jane and asked her to name her collaborators. Jane protested her innocence but to no avail. Lucia dragged her by the waist up to the village square.

That very day, Jane regretted ever picking up those garden eggs on the way as she could no longer bear the shame.
