Five Minute Freewrite: Bare Minimum
Having schooled for four years at the Meridian Heights, Jones was expected to garner a cumulative grade point of 3.0 to enable him graduate. That's the bare minimum cumulative grade point (cgp) to qualify one to be conferred with the honourary award.
But what did we see, Jones, after four years of intensive studies failed woefully to even get up to 2.5 cgp. He was well carried away with the fun and frivolities on show at the Meridian Heights. He was not reading his books but always seen gallivanting from one club house to another. And when his results came out in the penultimate year he could not get the bare minimum requirements.
He was really ashamed of himself and could gather the courage to inform his parents about the poor results.
Unfortunately for him, the school published the results and sent it by mail to his family house. Few days later, his dad called him with an annoying voice requesting him to come back home immediately. Jones' instinct told him that his parents must have become aware of his poor performance in school.
